Who we are:


Vetbizcentral, formerly known as The Michigan Veterans Business Resource Center, is a non-profit agency located at 711 N. Saginaw St., Suite 206, Flint, MI. The center serves veterans, all members of the National Guard and Reserve, active duty military personnel and veterans' surviving spouses throughout Michigan and the Midwest.

Ed Ronders, Director


Edward L. Ronders, Director,
is a Vietnam era veteran who served three years as a Navy journalist, stationed at Naval Air Station Memphis. A retired journalist and Michigan State University graduate, Ronders is past commander of American Legion Post 267 in Davison, Michigan. He is a member of the Michigan Joint Veterans Council, representing VetBiz Central.

Matt Sherwood, Assistant Director


Matt Sherwood, Assistant Director,
is a service-connected disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Army from 1994-1997 as a topographic surveyor, is the newest addition to the Vetbiz Central staff.

While in the Army, Sherwood also was a barracks utilization manager and was responsible for processing incoming new soldiers into the on-base housing quarters.

Sherwood is passionate about helping and assisting veterans in whatever capacity he can. He looks forward to meeting veterans who are interested in starting a new business or need help with an existing business. He believes veterans deserve the utmost respect and feels it is his duty in a civilian capacity to assist the men and women who have proudly served our country.

He is a cum laude graduate of Baker College of Flint and has a bachelor's degree in business administration. He was born and raised in the Flint area.

Sherman Chevalier


Sherman Chevalier, Office Manager,
started as a volunteer with VetBiz Central shortly after we opened our office. A retired General Motors skillled tradesman, he is also a Vietnam era veteran, serving from 1973-1975 as an Improved Hawk CW radar repairman.

Bette Bigsby


Bette Bigsby, Intake Outreach Coordinator,
Along with being Intake/Outreach Coordinator Bette assists with event planning. Bette started as a receptionist in May of 2008. She enjoys meeting and talking to all the veterans that reach out to our Center for help getting their businesses started or keeping it going. When not in the office assisting veterans you can find her at her local school board meetings.

Bette has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Baker College.
