Workshop Explaining
How to Start a Business and
Procure Contracts

VetBizCentral, a non-profit agency based in Flint which assists veterans, Guard and Reserve members and their families throughout Michigan along with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) of Northwest Michigan will present the three-hour conference.
The program will be held from 1300-1600 hours at the Grand Traverse County Government Center, 400 Boardman Avenue in the second floor training room.
The first topic will explore the resources available to veterans to assist them in starting a business.
The second topic will be an overview of the services offered by the PTAC. That center helps business owners qualify to bid on government contracts as well as assists them to identify contracting opportunities. Service Disabled Veteran Owned businesses receive advantages when bidding on federal and state contracts.
There is no fee for the workshop but registration is mandatory. To register,

VetBizCentral, the Michigan Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the University of Michigan-Flint School of Management will host a Veterans Summit 23 August.
The day-long summit will feature seminars, panels and information to help veterans succeed in the business world as well as a veterans benefits workshop. The event will be held in the William White Building on the UM-Flint campus.

VetBizCentral and the State of Michigan Supplier Diversity Department will host a workshop on how to prepare a quality bid proposal for state contracting opportunities.
There is no fee but registration is mandatory. Seating is limited and early registration is strongly recommended.
The workshop will be from 1000-1200 hours. 25 August at the Automation Alley office complex 2675 Bellingham Drive in Troy Michigan, 48083.
Veterans, Guard and Reserve members who are considering doing business with the State of Michigan are encouraged to attend this free workshop.
The program will cover such topics as elements of a quality bid proposal including different types of solicitation documents, bid documents, standard contractual terms, communication rules, award process and proposal format. The workshop will also cover the evaluation period, internal approvals, award notification, debrief, and the freedom of information act. (FOIA)
